A slice of bread is soaked in egg and then fried. You can either have a thick slice of bread, or a stack of thin slices of bread which will have more of the texture of pancakes.

- 3 egg, beaten
- 20 grams sugar
- 225 grams milk
- 20 grams butter
- cinnamon
- nutmeg
Equipment
- Cast Iron Skillet
- Whisk
Instructions
- Slice the bread into 1 inch thick slices.
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees, and place the bread in the oven for 10 minutes to toast.
- Whisk the egg, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Gently blend in the milk
- Heat 10 grams of butter in a cast iron skillet over medium heat.
- Soak each piece of bread in the custard for 30 seconds, turning half way through until soaked through.
- Add each slice of bread to the heated skillet, and cook for 3 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
- Flip the slices of bread and continue to cook for another 2 minutes until it is golden brown.
